Empowering our Community
for a Brighter Future.

The holiday season brings cheer and warmth, but for many, it also brings challenges, especially when it comes to accessing essential needs like food. Many residents, especially students who rely on school for meals and seniors, find it increasingly difficult to manage the financial strains of the holiday season. With rising food costs and reduced food assistance, the need for community support is more significant than ever. Saguache Sharing Christmas aims to alleviate this hardship by providing food assistance to families and individuals in need within Saguache County.

In 2022, The Saguache Sharing Christmas initiative was able to provide boxes of food to 150 families in Saguache and the surrounding areas. In 2023, Saguache Sharing Christmas was able to extend its support to more than 200 households across the county.

The 2023 Saguache Sharing Christmas took place in partnership between HEART of Saguache and Saguache County Department of Social Services, with generous financial support from the Saguache County Sales Tax Grant, Aventa Credit Union Foundation, and First Southwest Bank Foundation.

We are endlessly grateful to all our volunteers, without whom none of this would be possible. We want to express our gratitude to the following organizations and people:
